Charleston Beach Session | The Krieger family

I have SO many sessions to blog from this summer! I will be honest, it has been a little crazy over here. Most of my sessions this year have been at the beaches in the Charleston area. I did have some on Seabrook Island, Fripp Island, and Kiawah Island this year; some of these areas are a little from Charleston, but all are beautiful!

I met the Krieger family on Kiawah Island the day of their session and what a beautiful day it was! As I was driving to the beach I noticed there were beautiful wispy clouds in the sky. This is something I am always looking at on the way to a session. I love to include big beautiful skies in photos and I love to get dramatic, colorful sunsets. This comes from my background in landscape photography and bleeds over into my portrait work.

When I met with the Krieger family we took a few photos in the sand dunes and then we headed to the beach. We got so many amazing photos and then Lauren let me know that Landry was having her 1st birthday soon and she had a cute monogrammed ruffle romper she wanted to put on her for some of the photos. We got so many awesome photos at their session.

Towards the end of the session I even got a few photos of Lauren’s adorable baby bump since they are expecting baby #2! I love working a few maternity photos in even if that wasn’t the main focus of the session.

I want to stop rambling for a moment and share some of these images with you. This is definitely going to be an overshare of images from this session because it was really hard to pick favorites and you will see why!

Now check out Michele’s beautiful fall family session. She is a Twin Cities Family Photographer and her work is beautiful!

WELCOME

Hello! Thank you for visiting! I’m Melissa, a lifestyle family and maternity photographer servicing Charleston, SC and surrounding areas. To me a photo session is more than just smiling at the camera. I want to capture the personalities and playfulness of each member of your family. The way that your daughter grabs her daddy’s pinkie while walking. The way your son plays with your necklace when you hold him close. The way you and your husband giggle at each other when your child does that goofy toothless smile. Those are the timeless moments I want to capture! One day those memories will fade but the photos will carry on.
